    On the forums it's been dubbed as 'Bleeding Obsidian'. Even though it's blue.

    The He'll is "bleeding obsidian"? Does it replace regular Obsidian when part of a working portal?

    That may be the planned "Trap block" texture. Not 100% though.

    People think there is a trap block because the dispenser gui is labeled "trap"

    Looks like a glowing obsidian to me, like the glowing redstone ore.
